Alisal Road Bridge seismic design was started in early 2000 but never finished by others. In 2014 the City of Solvang hired Bengal Engineering to provide a seismic retrofit study and later plans for this highway bridge project.

Each seismic retrofit is unique and challenging for a variety of reasons such as missing bridge records, differing site conditions from records and other undocumented variables. These factors can be very cost prohibitive during construction with contractor change orders. Bengal Engineering provided contract bid documents that enabled the contractor to methodically and easily understand what was required. The construction was completed $500k below budgeted projects!
