In winter 2014 a boat moored off Goleta beach broke free, as waves pushed it on shore, it crashed into the pier and disintegrated. Damages to the pier rendered it of limited use to the public. Bengal Engineering was contacted by Santa Barbara County to prepare plans for the emergency repair. Through our guidance, the county received a California Coastal Commission emergency permit to move forward with the repairs in order to open the pier for its many public uses
